Junior Offerings
Saturday Morning Progressive Tennis Program (formerly TLP "Try, Learn, Play")
- Instruction provided by Professional Tennis Coach and trained volunteer coaches
- Session One -- May 8-June 19
- Session Two -- July 3-August 14
- 7-weeks, $40 per session*
Rain-outs will not be rescheduled.
Progressive tennis allows young players to develop the necessary skills to progress towards full court tennis. Low compression balls, shorter racquets, modified rules and court dimensions are used.
Parent/Child Pee Wees* FULL Recommended for ages 4-5 who are new to tennis. Designed around teaching children to coordinate their bodies when using tennis racquets on the courts with the help of a parent. Children learn how to self-rally and micro rally. Parents learn how to guide their child so they can play together outside of lessons. 30 min. sessions 8:30-9am * Pee Wee session fee only $20 as it requires a parent on court!
Stars Recommended for ages 6-11 who are new to tennis or beginner players. Hand-eye coordination, court awareness, and tennis basics are the focus of this highly structured program. Children learn to self-rally, micro rally, and mini-tennis rally. 1 hour lessons 9-10am FULL or 10:30-11:30am
Masters Recommended for ages 6-11 who have had some tennis experience or are "Stars" graduates. Progresses from tennis basics to skill development. Focuses on preparing children for match play. Children learn mini tennis and 3/4 court rally. 1 hour lessons 9-10am FULL or 10:30-11:30am

| Recommended for ages 8-11 who have had some tennis experience and/or are "Masters" graduates. Focuses on enhancing skills through pro instruction and mini tennis match play. Players will start with a 20 min. lesson to enhance the necessary skills for match play and then practice these skills during 40 min. of mini tennis scenarios. |
Recommended for ages 11-15 who have played full court tennis and are interested in developing more competitive tennis skills. Combines Pro instruction with full court play scenarios. Youth will solidify their playing skills by learning how to construct points and strategize against their opponents. |

Question: Can my children take Progressive Tennis Programs at the same time even if they are different ages and levels? Answer: Yes but different ages and/or levels of play will likely be in different groups. Question: Does my child have to be a member to take Progressive Tennis on Saturday mornings? Answer: Yes. This program is heavily subsidized by MTC and therefore only available to our members. Question: Do Progressive Saturday mornings include professional instruction? Answer: Yes. Teaching professionals are assisted by trained, volunteer coaches. Question: Do you offer summer camps? Answer: Yes. Summer camps are offered by our teaching professionals to both members and non-members. Question: Do we have to provide our own equipment for your programs? Answer: Yes. Proper tennis attire and non-marking shoes are required. Balls are provided for Progressive Tennis, camps and lessons but you must have your own racquet.
